Fri, Sept 7th Robbie the Robot
Warm-up: Write a note to Mr. Campbell and Mrs. Virata .....What do you do well in groups? What is difficult for you in groups?
Today's focus is questioning other students in class and group member's roles. We worked on this with the group task 0.3 Robbie the Robot.
Students were also given a list of question stems (bright green) to keep in their binders, these are great starting points to ask each other when the group is stuck, or for parents to use at home when helping their students. Resist the urge to "TELL" students how to do the math- this send them the sub-conscious message that they are unable to do it on their own. Give them MORE TIME and ask them some good questions to help them clarify or focus their thinking. And then give them MORE TIME!!
Classes were short today so this task was not finished. No homework will be entered for today.
